Objects From My Bag

I know that my bag is full of rubbish and memories starting from when I first got the bag around 2015/2016. Sometimes I do look back at those things to remember times when we were still in school but bringing them out in front of a class full of uni students made me look at some things differently. They were things I didn't want others to see, things I was embarrassed about having, things that didn't have any value to them (scraps of paper, rocks) but had a lot more meaning and memory to me. Then exploring how we could present and arrange them definitely made me try to take a different perspective, rummaging through my bag for things that were all the same colour or things that might be visibly smaller than another object I already had out. It was fun because it was simple and produced a lot of different outcomes at the same time.

I found it somewhat eye-opening as well to see things I'd kept in my bag from all the different places I've been and how the pieces were much more about my life and my bag then they were about the actual objects. The sunscreen from my trips to Italy in 2018 and 2019, or the bangles I collected from Year 7 to Year 9, even the tokens and gifts of random paper bits friends had tossed at me or made into something in lessons, it was all there and it gave everything so much more significance than could be straight away described in a single photo. Though I personally have never enjoyed sculpture or 3D art it gave me more insight into the possibilities the area has.
